YORKSHIRE ICON
Formerly known as The Steel Man, this iconic sculpture project has been rebranded as The Yorkshire Icon.
The principle aims of the project are to find a site, with planning consent, for the sculpture to sit, finalise the design, and raise the required funding to make The Yorkshire Icon a reality
Then the Heart of Steel, that has been raising funds for the British Heart Foundation, can be united within the main sculpture to create The Yorkshire Icon.
The decision to rename the sculpture stems from its status as a symbol of pride and resilience for the entire Yorkshire region. As a towering representation of Yorkshire's industrial heritage and the spirit of its people, The Yorkshire Icon stands as a beacon of strength and determination, for the past, present and future of this great region.
By adopting the name ’Yorkshire Icon’, we aim to honour the broader cultural and historical significance with this remarkable sculpture. It serves as a testament to Yorkshire's industrial legacy and its enduring impact on the world stage.
Join us in celebrating The Yorkshire Icon as a symbol of Yorkshire's past, present, and future.
